A2 – B2 (C2) on CEFR Pathway Table
There are a number of English courses available at each of our Football Camps, ranging from Elementary (A2), Intermediate (B1), Advanced (B2), and at Framlingham, we offer Proficiency (C1) and Masters (C2) courses.
We therefore we recommend attending one of these camp after you have studied English for at approximately two years. After completing placement test, our native-speaking English teachers will place teenagers in a class suitable to their ability level. For our teenage learners, we tailor our lessons and teaching approach to include interactive group and individual projects and presentations with interesting cultural and social topics to keep the course vibrant and different to traditional school lessons. Through encouraging participation within our classes, it allows each learner to develop their English sometimes without even noticing. At the end of the 2-week course, learners will complete an examination for the level they have been learning at. We will then receive a certificate from Anglia Examinations, which confirms your English level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference. Classroom learning time per week is 20 hours and our class sizes are same with approximately 16 students per teacher. For students achieving a pass grade or higher for B1, B2, C1 and C2, they will receive an Ofqual approved certificate through Anglia Examinations partnership with AIM Awards.
During the 2-week programme, our staff will take all our campers on 3 organised day trip excursions.A special highlight of this course is that players will go on a stadium tour during one of their excursions. At Camp Langley we visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, at Camp Finborough we visit Arsenal Emirates Stadium and at Camp Worksop, we take players to Old Trafford in Manchester. For the other 2 day trips during the programme, players can enjoy exploring local towns or cities close to their camp and spend the day off-campus with new friends. (3 excursions during 2-week programme – Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday)
Care and Supervision
Our Camp Leaders are responsible for the pastoral care of all those in our care and ensure that everyone is sleeping well, eating well, joining in, making friends and having a great time. During free time, our teenagers are able to explore the campus with friends, whilst being supervised by their house parents.
Our camps are available to children from all over the world. Integration and immersion is central to how we operate as an organisation, and by encouraging lots of social interaction between different cultures and creating a diverse international community at camp, it can really develop every child’s self-confidence in communicating with others.
