Our perfect starter camp for younger children aged 8 to 14.
Langley is a boarding school for young students; however when Xplore take over during the summer months, the whole campus transforms into fun-packed summer camp, full of language activities, games, sports and creative fun that will keep everyone busy from breakfast to bed all day, every day!
The campus has everything on-site, with accommodation, dining and social areas all within the same building, which means there is a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere, perfect for younger campers or those staying away from home for the first time. Behind the main house lays acres of green lawns for lots of adventure activities and outdoor games, including access to woodland areas used for bush craft sessions and campfire evenings for the ultimate summer camp experience!

English Levels: First Step - B1 on CEFR Pathway Table
Our English lessons at Camp Langley focus on games, images and music with lots of repetition to encourage retention and pronunciation. We find that this helps to improve our young students’ confidence when communicating with our staff and other children on-site.
First Step, Preliminary (A1), Elementary (A2) and Intermediate (B1) are all available at Langley and qualified teachers will help improve on the basics of the language including simple phrases, spelling and sentence building. A progress report will be kept to measure the achievement of all students and those successfully sitting an examination from A1 to B1 will receive an official Anglia Examination certificate and qualification.
Please note: It is important that young children need to have a basic level of English before travelling abroad in order to have the best experience at camp. We cannot guarantee we will have a member of staff who can speak a child’s native language and we want to avoid any children feeling isolated without means to communicate with our staff and other children at camp. We recommend that children with no or very low English language come as part of a group with a group leader – please contact us for more information.
Part of the summer camp experience is getting to have lots of fun playing and laughing with new friends.
Our action packed multi-activity programme promises lots of challenging and exciting activities from quad biking to crate climbing, arts, crafts, sports and games. All the activities help to support each child’s English language development through listening and communicating with others, as well as help build self-confidence.

Return transfers from and to London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) on arrival and departure dates are included. Please ensure your arrival flight arrives at LHR between 10:00 – 15:00 and your departure flight leaves LHR between 12:00 – 17:00. Unfortunately, flights outside of these times or to/from a different airport will ensure an additional cost – please check with our bookings team first.
The boarding quarters contain practical bedrooms that sleep between 1 and 4 children per room. We always have separate quarters for boys and girls and try where possible to put children of a similar age in a room together. If you have any special requirements or would like to request to share with a friend, we will try to accommodate you, just let us know in advance.
All meals at Camp Langley are served in the dining hall, supervised by our caring Camp Leaders. You can expect three nutritional meals with both hot and cold options, which are specially catered with younger children in mind. Dietary requirements can be met when we are aware in advance.
During the 2-week programme, our staff will take all our campers on 3 organised day trip excursions.
From city day trips to London or Cambridge, to taking part in the ultimate tree house adventure at BeWilderwood or going to amazing local Safari Park – Africa Alive, these fully supervised trips are the perfect way to spend the day off-campus with new friends (3 excursions during 2-week programme – Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday).
Care & Supervision
The site at Camp Langley is perfectly enclosed and surrounded by English countryside so our young campers will feel right at home with everything they need on site. We know that staying away from home can sometimes be a bit daunting, so our caring staff are really great at knowing how to deal with homesickness and will keep parents updated on how everyone is getting on.
Our camps are available to children from all over the world. Integration and immersion is central to how we operate as an organisation, and by encouraging lots of social interaction between different cultures and creating a diverse international community at camp, it can really develop every child’s self-confidence in communicating with others.
